Bought this in black for the chaise side of our L shaped sofa.We didn't have room for a full end table and this makes it convenient to put down a cup or small plate.Product quality is sturdy and the springs/hinges hold the tabletop in place. We've also enjoyed using the included phone stand.
I liked this so much that I got a 2nd (his & hers). The first model I got felt a little on the cheap side. So I wrote that in my original review. It looks like someone must have read it.This is version 2 or 3 and what an improvement.- The finish is much cleaner and more "furniture" like. As opposed to the original, that didn't look like they applied any finish. This now has a very finished look to it.- They kept the same piano style hinge, which I like, because it's the tension that keeps the wings snug to the arm of the couch, and is just right.- Best of all is the anti-slip gripper pads that are applied to the underside of both the table-top and the folding side wings. These large, rubberized & textured gripper pads are a marked improvement over the original design. They didn't cheap out with these pads either. The pads cover the whole underside of the table and the whole underside of both wings.- They even improved the phone holder. I tossed the phone holder out with the original table, as the slot was too thin & cheap to hold my beastly phone. This holder is dramatically improved. The width of the slot easily hold my phone and could even handle a thicker phone. The slot is cut with an angle for better viewing of the phone. The design of the method to attach the phone holder is also markedly improved, and is perfect.-The size of the table is strictly personal. I like this size because if I get much bigger, then I risk clipping it with my hip when getting up or down from chair/couch. If you're looking for a TV tray size table, this isn't it. I think of it as a snack/drink table.A stable & attractive table at a very reasonable cost, making this a very easy recommendation.FYI, I think I gave the original table a 3 star.
I am almost always reading if I am in my chair which meant that I was always leaned over using my footstool as a make shift TV tray, holding both my food and my tablet. As you can imagine this is not a very comfortable position that almost always ended with me abandoning my tablet to hold my food, a situation that often ends up with me wearing my food. Having a place to sit my food that is stable and at a reasonable height it great because it frees up a hand to hold my tablet and provides the stability to hold my plate so dinner stays on the plate and not my shirt. I love that it comes with a holder for your phone or tablet, unfortunately neither my tablet fit if they are in their cases. I noticed that the pain job is not the greatest, there are spots where it looks like they got missed but they are in places that are such that I didn't notice them for at least three days. I figure that since my plate goes there it is not a big deal but it should be noted here. Also watch your fingers when removing it from your chair, I snapped it closed on my hand the other night and it hurt but I realized that the spring loading has to work like that to keep it in place while in use. Over I am happy with it and I am considering getting a second one for my husbands chair.
